UI UX Data Viz Engineer

We're growing our product development software and systems team and are looking for a UI/UX and Data Visualization Engineer to improve the presentation and utility of the data and analytics delivered by our Research & Development team. As part of our team, you will develop software to process and aggregate data as needed for better analytics, design datadriven user interfaces for web and mobile applications, generate custom reports and charts based on available data, and provide unique insights into data. The software and systems team delivers unique electronics and software solutions to support our business units in bedding, home furniture, automotive, and other markets.

Essential responsibilities of a UI/UX & Data Visualization Engineer:

  • Develop web applications with user-friendly interfaces to deliver relevant and meaningful data to both internal and external customers
  • Create design guidelines and ensure adherence and design consistency across multiple applications
  • Collect and use analytics feedback from web and mobile applications to improve useability and user experience
  • Develop or integrate with software to create customized reports, graphs, charts, and tables based on available data
  • Build and maintain applications that can display real-time data streams
  • Work with graphics designers to create new resources for applications
  • Develop applications using JavaScript, HTML, CSS and/or other programming and front-end languages

A few things you ll need:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond with urgency and stay organized within a fast-paced team
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Proactive, analytical, and self-educating mindset with an eye for detail
  • Things we consider a plus:
  • Graphics design experience
  • Experience with Azure DevOps and Git
  • Experience with data analytics, REST APIs, real-time data streams, MVC, and other data-related technologies
  • Mobile app user interface design or development
  • Back-end development experience
  • Self-motivated to learn new technologies to improve productivity and provide better results
  • A working knowledge of some of the technologies that we use including:
    React, AngularJS, Vue, OAuth, SQL, Python, C#
