Purpose:
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures and pipe and electrical systems in industrial facility environment by performing welding, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC troubleshooting and general preventive maintenance services.
Major Position
Responsibilities:
Visually inspect, test, and calibrate select site instruments on a scheduled basis.
Develop, plan, coordinate and recommend changes to site instruments routine to moderately complex schedules in coordination with the Maintenance Supervisor.
Read quality control manuals and testing specifications to obtain data to test or calibrate specific instruments.
Adjust calibration mechanisms to obtain specified operational performance of device or instrument using hand tools and precision measuring and calibrating instruments and equipment.
Observe readings on meters and gauges and other displays and performance of device or instrument to identify functional defects and determine calibration requirements.
Troubleshoot by investigating and reconciling abnormal mechanical equipment and machinery problems.
Dismantle equipment and devices to gain access to and remove defective equipment and machinery parts.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and repairs and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
Respond to troubleshoot any reported or discovered machinery and equipment failures.
Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
Assist on developing and coordinating plans for reconstruction or installation of new equipment, machinery, or buildings.
Possess extensive electrical background with previous experience related to pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as programmable controllers.
Set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjust function parts of devices and control instruments.
Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
Must be able to work an on-call schedule that includes nights and weekends.

Qualifications:
Required Education:
High School Diploma/GED Years and area of experience (required for the role):
5 years' experience in maintenance.
